General Staff: the situation at the front is difficult, there were 217 clashes during the day

The situation at the front remains difficult, 217 combat clashes have been recorded over the past 24 hours, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in the morning briefing on November 25.

Most of the Russian attacks were in the Kurakhiv direction, according to the data of the General Staff.

“In the Kurakhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled 67 attacks. The occupiers most actively tried to advance near Berestki, Sontsivka, Novodmytrivka, Zora, Kurakhovo, Dalnyi, Romanivka, Elizavetivka, and Hanivka,” the message reads.

In the Pokrovsky direction, according to the General Staff, the invaders attacked 46 times in the areas of Myrolyubivka, Promenya, Lysivka, Hryhorivka, Dachenskyi, Pustinka, and Chumatskyi.

In addition, fighting continued in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Lyman, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, Vremiv, Dnieper directions and Kurshchyna in the Russian Federation.

“According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched one missile strike against the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using four missiles, as well as 67 airstrikes, including dropping 85 anti-aircraft missiles. In addition, it carried out more than 4,200 attacks, of which 121 were from rocket salvo systems, and engaged more than one and a half thousand kamikaze drones for destruction,” the message reads.

The American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report on November 17 that the Russian army will probably focus in the winter of 2024-2025 on capturing front-line Ukrainian cities and on urban battles.

In a report published on November 24, analysts noted that the Russian military in Donbas has recently been advancing much faster than in the whole of 2023.
