The G7 ambassadors in Ukraine congratulate the independence of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

“We welcome the restoration of NABU and SAP’s independence, initiated by Vladimir Zelensky and promptly approved by the Verkhovna Rada-this is a necessary and important step for maintaining the unity, trust in the system of government of Ukraine and improving the business climate,”-said in a statement of ambassadors on the social network.

On July 31, the Verkhovna Rada approved as a whole and as a whole, the bill of President Vladimir Zelensky on “Strengthening the powers of the National Anti -Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti -Corruption Prosecutor’s Office”. Zelensky has already signed this document.

On July 22, the deputies supported the Law No. 12414, which, as reported, restricts the independence of NABU and SAP. After that, NABU Chairman Semen Krivonos urged the President of Ukraine to veto the bill, but Zelensky signed him the same day.

These legislative changes have provoked protests in Ukraine, as well as concern from Western partners.
