Chief scout of Berlin “Union” Oliver Runert since January, he will suspend his activities in the club due to his participation in the elections to the German parliament.
The club reported that Runert has a good chance of getting into the parliament in early elections in February 2025.
It is interesting that Oliver was already engaged in political activity in the city of Iserlon. There he also ran for office in the Bundestag, but unsuccessfully.
Before joining Union, Oliver Runert worked at Schalke. He played an important role in attracting players who led the club from Gelsenkirchen to the Champions League. Now Schalke is fighting for survival in the second Bundesliga.
