Promoter Frank Warren spoke about further plans for the career of British heavyweight Derek Chisora and possible options for his next fight.
“At first we planned to arrange a fight with Deontay Wilder for Chisori, but it didn’t work out – he decided to go in a different direction and refused the fight. Then there was talk of Derek’s third match with Dillian Whyte. At first, everything was agreed, but later the situation changed, and this option was postponed.
“Derek hasn’t fought in a long time. Given that he is an IBF mandatory challenger, he needs to get back in the ring as soon as possible. If that doesn’t happen, he could lose his status without a fight,” Warren said.
