France will not be in the final. The first finalist of the U-20 World Cup was determined

Morocco’s U-20 national team defeated their peers from France in the semi-finals in a penalty shootout U-20 World Cup.

The match in Chilean Valparaiso took place in a tense struggle. In the 32nd minute, the Africans took the lead after an own goal by French goalkeeper Lysandre Olmetta. During the execution of the penalty shot by Yassir Zabiri, the ball hit the post, and then the goalkeeper’s back, after which it ended up in the goal net.

After the break, France regained the balance thanks to a precise strike from Luca Michal, who converted Moussa Dabo’s cross.

Neither team could score in overtime, so everything was decided in a series of post-match penalties. The Moroccans made five out of six attempts, while the French made four. Gillian N’Gessan made a decisive miss.

Thus, Morocco U-20 will play in the final of the Youth World Cup for the first time in history. The opponent will be the winner of the match between Argentina and Colombia.
