The government of the new French Prime Minister Francois Bairro was announced by a vote of no confidence shortly after the Prime Minister made his program statement.

Members of the left-wing France Invincible (LFI) party justified the move by the composition of the center-right cabinet, which they consider unrepresentative. Voting can take place as early as Thursday.

In December, other left-wing parties and the far-right bloc led by Marine Le Pen dismissed the government of Bairro’s predecessor, Michel Barnier, in a similar vote.

Socialists, who have 66 deputies, said that their position will depend on the attitude of the prime minister to the revision of the pension reform. However, even if this party supports the resignation of the government, its further fate will depend on the decision of the “National Union”, which has the largest faction – 124 deputies.

The Greens have already announced that they will vote against the Bair government. The far-right has said that it will not initially express a vote of no confidence in the government, but does not rule out that it will do it later, as it happened with Barnier.

In the National Assembly (the lower house of the French parliament – ed.) there are three major blocs – Macron’s centrist bloc, the leftist bloc and Le Pen’s bloc, dominated by her National Unity party – none of which has an absolute majority.
