Literally: “Prosecutors … sent an indictment to the court against a 35-year-old former TV presenter of sanctioned channels, who already during the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine distributed videos on his YouTube channel in which he justified the actions of the aggressor country.”

Details: The defendant’s channel had more than 203,000 subscribers. In videos published in 2023-2024, the blogger convinced the audience that Russia is not the aggressor and presented pro-Russian narratives that the Russian Federation had good reasons for invading the territory of Ukraine.
The host of the channel and his guests, being in Ukraine and daily observing the tragic consequences of the actions of the aggressor state, claimed that there is no war, calling it “SVO”.
In January 2025, he was informed of the suspicion of justifying, recognizing as legitimate, denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Part 2, Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Currently, the pre-trial investigation has been completed, the indictment has been sent to the Kyiv-Sviatoshyn District Court of Kyiv, the prosecutor’s office notes.
The sanction of the article provides imprisonment for a term of five to eight years with or without confiscation of property.
