Law enforcement officers reported suspicion of the former Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine in the case of theft of public funds.
According to the investigation, it is about the amount of UAH 27 million, which were allocated for the development of the agricultural sector. Investigators believe that the official organized a scheme of appropriation of budget funds through controlled companies.
According to law enforcement officers, in 2021 the Ministry of Agrarian Policy conducted a tender for the purchase of equipment for agricultural enterprises. The winner of the competition was a company, which, according to the investigation, was related to the exult.
After receiving the funds, the firm failed to fulfill its obligations, and the money was brought to the accounts of other legal entities.
The investigation conducted searches from the defendants of the case, as well as the financial documentation was removed, which confirms the illegal use of budget funds. Investigative actions are ongoing, law enforcement officers establish others involved in the criminal scheme.
The former official is threatened with imprisonment if he is proved in court.
