The last month of the winter of 2026 in Ukraine will be characterized by changeable weather with an average temperature from 4 degrees of frost to 2 degrees of heat, which is 1.5 degrees higher than the long-term indicators for most regions.

According to forecasters, February will begin with a cold wave, when night temperatures may drop to minus 15-20 degrees in the northern and western regions. However, already from the second decade, regular thaws and temperature fluctuations are expected, which will lead to frequent melting of snow and the formation of ice on the roads.
Precipitation during the month is expected to be within normal limits — from 29 to 67 mm across the country and up to 83 mm in the Carpathians, which is about 80–120 percent of average values. In the first half of February, wet snow will prevail, while at the end of the month, due to warming, it will rain more and more often. The transition of the average daily temperature from zero to an increase in most of the territory of Ukraine is expected in the second and third decades of February, which will symbolize the early arrival of meteorological spring.
The climatic history of observations records extreme contrasts for February: from historical lows of minus 39 degrees in the north to plus 24 degrees in Crimea and Odesa. In 2026, forecasters do not predict the renewal of absolute cold records, but instead emphasize the structural change of the season due to the activity of Atlantic cyclones. Such weather conditions will require special attention from drivers due to frequent changes in the condition of the road surface and from public utilities due to the possible accumulation of wet snow.
