“In the city of Bershad, the fisherman was lucky to catch in the Dokhna River Giant Som,” the agency reported.
The size of the fish is commensurate with the growth of an adult, which makes the catch one of the largest in the region in recent times.
“European catfish is not only the largest freshwater fish in Ukraine and Europe, but also one of the largest freshwater fish on the planet. Its length can reach 5 meters, and weight – more than 100 kg. In Ukraine, these predators live in the basins of all rivers, ”the agency noted.
