The Russian United Russia party announced that it had registered a draft law on so-called propaganda in the State Duma “childfree”, that is, a conscious unwillingness to have children. This was reported in the party’s Telegram on Wednesday, September 25.
As stated in the message, fines for propaganda childfree will amount to 400 thousand rubles (approximately 120 thousand hryvnias) for individuals, up to 800 thousand rubles (approximately 240 thousand hryvnias) for officials and up to 5 million rubles (1.5 million hryvnias) for legal entities.
“The draft law concerns destructive content, i.e. content that requires removal, namely products that create a negative attitude towards families and children and promote the refusal to have children. State Duma deputies from United Russia were the initiators of the document, the report said.
On September 24, the speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Volodin, announced the introduction of fines in Russia for the so-called propaganda of not wanting to have children. He said that the deputies want to prevent the spread of information that popularizes childlessness.
