The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko stated this during a joint meeting of the Ukrainian Government and the European Commission.
“As of today, the European Union has provided Ukraine with more than 135 billion euros, of which about 66 billion is aimed at economic support. These are unprecedented amounts of assistance that emphasize Ukraine’s strategic importance to the European Union,” he said.
The minister added that the European Union is the largest budget support.
“Today, this assistance is 40% of all the help we received. It is 45 billion euros,” Marchenko said.
The minister noted that Ukraine Facility has become the main support for the EU since 2024. According to him, Ukraine has already fulfilled the 41st event, provided for by the plan, which became the basis for a positive evaluation by the European Commission for the fourth quarter of 2024.
“We expect that the EU Council will soon approve the decision to allocate a new tranche of 3.5 billion euros, which will allow us to continue to finance priority expenditures,” Marchenko stressed.
He also stressed that in cooperation with G7 countries, a special ERA special mechanism was launched last year, which allowed to mobilize $ 50 billion for Ukraine, which became an important stage that involves the use of percent of frozen Russian assets.
Marchenko also thanked the partners for the sanction policy.
“You are a leader today in terms of sanctions on companies and individuals of the Russian Federation,” the minister stressed.
The European Commissioner for Budget Piotr Serafin, attended by the meeting, said that this year it will receive 12.5 billion euros due to Ukraine factory facility.
“We expect that you will continue the reforms in the country, as it was to this day, in order for budget support to go on this mechanism without delay,” he said.
