From the first minutes, the representative of the USA rushed to confirm the status of the favorite – cold-bloodedly smashing the opponent from a distance, moving perfectly on his feet, dangerously reaching Nokes with jabs.
Sam tried to force boxing, realizing that he was inferior to the American in speed. In the second round, Noakes missed a very dangerous punch, but continued to stand on his feet. He too often stayed in front of the opponent, which allowed the opponent to find his moments.
In the third 3-minute period, Mason got the opponent again, this time with an uppercut and inflicted a dissection near the eye. Got involved in power boxing again, but in this element the advantage immediately went to the hands of Noakes.
Spectacular carnage continued in the second half of the match – Abdullah made too many mistakes, allowing Sam to level things up a bit in the ring.
The American’s corner asked his protege to stop fighting and start boxing, but he didn’t even listen to the coach. Abdullah constantly initiated exchanges in which he was more successful, but missed many counterattacks. A very beautiful and spectacular match, which at times resembled a real fight.
Noakes heard the final gong, although he missed quite a few in the final rounds. The judges recorded the victory of the American. Mason became the youngest current world champion – at the age of 21!
