FIFA made an unexpected decision to disqualify Cristiano Ronaldo

Legendary striker of the national team of Portugal Cristiano Ronaldo received a one-match suspension from FIFA for unsportsmanlike conduct in the selection game for the 2026 World Cup against the Irish team (0:2). This was reported by the Record publication.

It was expected that the 40-year-old forward would miss 2 matches for hitting an opponent in the face, but the football player got away with a minimal punishment.

Thus, Cristiano will not miss the match of the 1st round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.

In the 2025/26 season, Cristiano Ronaldo played 12 matches at the club level, scoring 11 goals and 2 assists. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the value of the player at 12 million euros.
