Commenting on this, Fizo called the publication of the publication a “lie”.
“No one heard anything, no one saw anything, there are no witnesses, but this did not stop the Politico portal from inventing lies. It is well known that I am one of the “favorites” of this portal, where sovereignty, the struggle for national interests and one’s own opinion are considered crimes,” the Slovak prime minister said.
He noted that he did not speak at the informal summit in Brussels, and also “openly criticized this summit, its preparation and convening.”
“At the summit, I did not speak informally with any prime minister or president about my visit to the USA,” he said.
According to Fico, there were “persistent attempts to disrupt” his visit to the US, as was the case with his “visit to Russia, when some EU member states did not even allow him to fly over their territory.”
“I agree with many of the strategies of the US president, but not with some. To be honest, I expected that after my harsh statement about Venezuela, my visit to the US would be canceled. This did not happen, which makes me appreciate the meeting with the US president even more,” Fizo said.
Therefore, the Slovak prime minister said that the goal of Politico seems to be only “to destroy the constructive relations that Slovakia has with all four corners of the world.”
“It also affects the interest of the Slovak Republic in diversifying its peaceful nuclear program and cooperation with the US. If I need to express a critical opinion, I don’t need megaphones for that. Perhaps the example of my proposal on the need to replace Kallas is enough,” he added.
