This was stated by Viceremier-Minister for Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology-Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov.
According to him, although no one is planning to disconnect Starlink for Ukraine, the country is ready for such a scenario.
Fedorov noted that Starlink is critical to many areas in Ukraine. In addition to military needs, the system is actively used in the civilian sector – to ensure the work of schools, hospitals, energy facilities and logistics.
“We don’t get Starlink as a gift. Our team cooperates with digital ministers of other countries that buy these systems for us. For example, Poland and Germany have provided thousands of such devices, ”the minister explained.
Ukraine has also created an electronic monitoring system of Starlink devices. This allows you to quickly detect damaged terminals and switch off to avoid unnecessary partners’ costs.
At the same time, Fedorov acknowledged that in the case of disconnection of Starlink the country would be “very difficult”, but emphasized: “We have a clear plan of action and will handle even this problem”.
The minister also commented on the possibility of using Starlink in Russia. According to him, Ukraine is ready for such developments and has technological solutions for counteraction.
“If the Russians use Starlink, we will destroy them,” Fedorov emphasized.
We will remind, earlier Ilon Musk stated that Starlink is a key factor for the Ukrainian army and without it “the front line would collapse.”
At the same time, the Polish Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorsky noted that the financing of access to the system for Ukraine is carried out at the expense of the Polish government.
