The Russian military is trying to force the Dnipro in the south every day, Vladyslav Voloshin, the spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, said on TV.

“Every day, the enemy makes several such attempts to force, to cross to the islands under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and to the right bank. This is an attempt to capture a certain bridgehead on the right bank, deploy fire equipment and try to exert as much influence as possible, to fire at Kherson, populated areas on the right bank,” said Voloshyn.

He added that on December 20, “during the shelling of Kherson, as a result of which people were injured, houses and infrastructure were damaged, a small group of occupiers tried to force the Dnipro in the area of the Antoniv bridge.” However, the Defense Forces say they “acted on prejudice and the enemy could not even reach the middle of the river”.

Earlier, Voloshyn also reported that the Russian army transferred a division of river boats from Sevastopol to the Dnipro Bay and is accumulating additional forces on the Kinburn Spit.

According to the General Staff, during the past 24 hours, the Russian army has unsuccessfully attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Dnieper direction seven times.
