This year’s show will start on May 13 and our country will be presented with a band Ziferblat at a musical event. Ukraine remains an unchanged participant in the competition for many years in a row.
Our musicians have repeatedly demonstrated their vocal data in the international arena and have in love with thousands of Euro Fan. Many times Ukrainian artists managed to get to the top three, but only a few won.
Always in the finals, but only three times in the first place – it is in such words that can describe Ukraine’s participation in Eurovision. Our state is the first to receive a crystal cup on a song show three times. Sweden has achieved the same success in the competition.
For the first time, Ukraine appeared at an international event in 2003, but in a year we managed to win the first victory in the competition. Then the first place was won by Ruslana Lizhichko with the ethnic composition “Wild Dances” (“Wild Dancing”), which is still remembered and inspired by it. With her energetic performance, which combined incendiary dances, Hutsul motifs, the singer won the love of Eurofan and fell into their soul for many years. Then she managed not only to glorify our country, but also to hold a show in Kiev for the first time in 2005.
The second winner was the artist Jamal in 12 years. With the lyrical composition “1944” she received a crystal cup in 2016. Her song was dedicated to the deportation of the Crimean Tatars. She managed to take first place due to her emotional performance and insightful voice. In total, she received 534 points at the time.
For the third time, Ukraine became a triumph in 2022. This victory was symbolic because it happened at the beginning of a full -scale Russian invasion. Kalush Orchestra performed with the song “Stefania”, which combines rap, Ukrainian folklore and which is dedicated to the mother of the leader of the staff Oleg Psyuk.
Over time, this track has become much broader and has become a kind of anthem for all Ukrainian mothers. The performance of the band was also remembered by the fact that the soloist, despite the threat of disqualification, reminded the world about Ukrainian prisoners of war.
In 2025, Ziferblat will play a competition with the song “Bird of Pray”, in which they sing about faith in a better future. For the first time, the team will appear on stage in the first semifinals on May 13 at 5. The second semifinals and the Eurovision Grand Final in Basel, Switzerland, planned for May 15 and 17.
We will remind, earlier it became known who will be the spoke from Ukraine at “Eurovision-2025”. Last year, the participants of the competition was announced by singer Jamal. This year, this mission was entrusted with the famous artist and participant of this year’s show in Sweden.
