Literally: “Any agreement reached in Alaska negotiations on August 15, 2025 or after that date should clearly confirm the sovereignty of Ukraine, its territorial integrity, the Constitution and principles of the UN Charter. It is extremely important that Russia does not receive remuneration for its cruel and illegal war.

Details: The statement calls for the leaders of the free world to achieve a ceasefire agreement, “which will meet the best interests of all people who value freedom throughout the democratic world.”
Committees’ heads note that Ukraine’s future can only be determined by the Ukrainians themselves, following the fundamental principle: “Nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine”.
“European states should also participate in negotiations to minimize the risks to European security that Russia’s aggression against Ukraine,” the heads of parliamentary committees stressed.
They added that Russia would probably try to use negotiations as an excuse to avoid unconditional ceasefire and to reduce sanctions.
In this connection, they called on to demonstrate the unity, determination and loyalty to universal rights, so that the result of any negotiation really serves the case of freedom.
The text of the statement was signed by 27 heads of parliamentary committees in foreign affairs, including from Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Czech Republic, Moldova, Britain, Finland, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Iceland, Norway, Austria, Belgia, Sweden, Sweden, France, France, France. The head of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament was signed.
