The Kyiv District Court of the city of Odesa chose a preventive measure in the form of detention without bail for four persons, including three employees of the territorial picking center and a representative of a public organization.

The investigation established that during mobilization measures, the suspects illegally deprived a local resident of his freedom by using physical force on him. The man was forcibly put on a bus and driven around the city for an hour, demanding $6,000 for refusing to take him to the district TCC and solving the issue of mobilization.
The detention took place immediately after receiving information about the illegal actions of the group, and the judge took into account the gravity of the crimes incriminated, appointing the strictest preventive measure. The prosecutor’s office and the police continue to collect evidence to determine whether this case was isolated or whether the group acted according to an established scheme to extort money from conscripts. Law enforcement agencies emphasize that any abuse of official position during martial law will be punished as severely as possible, regardless of the status of the suspects.
