Employees of the Odesa District TCC at the checkpoints offered conscripts for money to help them get a deferment from mobilization.
This was reported by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the SBI, the employees of the Odessa TCC stopped the men at checkpoints and informed them that they planned to deliver them to the military commissariat for mobilization. But after that, they offered to “release” conscripts and help in processing a deferral for 4.5 thousand dollars.
“In case of refusal to pay the money, the men were threatened with a wanted notice,” the law enforcement officers added.
The SBI clarifies that the fact of extorting money from a man whose relatives went missing during the war was established, so he had a reprieve.
On November 21, one of the middlemen was detained by the SBI employees while receiving money for a “service”. The question of detention and notification of suspicion to other participants of the scheme is being resolved.
The detainee was informed of the suspicion of receiving an illegal benefit by an official. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
Also, during the search of the premises, he took a service weapon from one of the possible suspects and pointed it at the law enforcement officers. After that, the man demanded that he return the seized mobile phone and leave his house.
The perpetrator was detained and reported on suspicion of attempted murder of law enforcement officers, he may face life imprisonment. The issue of a preventive measure is being resolved.
Earlier, we wrote that law enforcement officers detained the head of the Interdistrict Medical and Social Expert Commission (MSEK) in Kyiv Oblast on suspicion of forging medical documents for drug evaders.
The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a preventive measure in the form of detention of the head of the Khmelnytskyi regional MSEK, who was accused of accepting bribes.
