Today, December 18, 2025, a touching rescue operation took place in the village of Solonytsivka, Kharkiv region. At a local pond, a swan fell into a death trap, entangled in an abandoned fishing net. The bird could not free itself and with each attempt to fly away only tightened the handcuffs.

Rescuers of the State Emergency Service quickly arrived at the call of local residents. Using a rubber boat, they carefully approached the frightened bird so as not to cause it further stress or injury. Specialists cut the net, freed the swan and, having made sure that it was not seriously damaged, released it into the wild. The bird successfully returned to its flock, which remained at the reservoir.
