Starting in 2025, tournament prize funds will be divided into two categories: prize money for players and prize money for clubs. This initiative is aimed at ensuring stable basic salaries for players and improving the support infrastructure from clubs.

The prize pool for IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne has been increased by $250,000 to $1.25 million. These tournaments will also receive the highest percentage of player funds:

  • $1 million to players
  • $250,000 to clubs
For other tournaments in the EPT series, the prize fund will be $1 million with a proportional distribution of funds between players and clubs: 30-70 or 40-60.

IEM Katowice and IEM Cologne:

  • Total prize pool: $1.25 million
  • Player share: $1 million
  • Club share: $250,000

IEM Dallas, IEM Spring and IEM Chengdu

  • Total prize pool: $1 million
  • Players’ share: $300,000
  • Club share: $700,000

ESL Pro League 21 and 22

  • Total prize pool: $1 million
  • Players’ share: $400,000
  • Club share: $600,000
Annual Club Incentive: a new team support program

EFG is introducing an Annual Club Incentive system that will reward clubs for their contribution to the ESL Pro Tour. The prize of $2.95 million will be distributed among the 16 most active clubs with the best results according to the formula:

Club contribution = V x N, where V is points for views, N is the number of participations in EPT tournaments.

Points will be awarded depending on the duration of the tournament and the difficulty of logistics. For example, longer tournaments (like ESL Pro League) and events outside of Europe (IEM Chengdu, IEM Dallas) will have more points than Katowice or Cologne.

Clubs will be able to join this program by signing the relevant document.

Invitations and the new format of ESL Pro League 21

EFG has announced the dates for defining invitations to key events:

  • IEM Katowice 2025: January 2025
  • ESL Pro League 21: January 2025
  • IEM Spring 2025: February 2025
  • IEM Dallas 2025: February 2025
  • IEM Cologne 2025: June 2025
  • ESL Pro League 22: July 2025
  • IEM Chengdu 2025: August 2025
Taking place from March 1-16 in Stockholm, ESL Pro League 21 will feature a team-seeded format for both Swiss stages and a dynamic ELO rating system that will update after each match.

EFG allocates 10% of its revenues and 25% of the profits from CS2 Tier-1 tournaments to pay clubs and players. According to Mark Winter, director of game ecosystem at EFG, this will ensure stability for organizations and the further development of Counter-Strike.
