According to him, only since the beginning of this year, our border units and groups have recorded more than 2,500 shellings carried out by Russia on these territories. 55 of them – with the use of aviation, more than 1,000 – with the use of artillery, and more than 1,400 – with the use of UAVs.
During the last period of this year, the enemy intensified the shelling of Chernihiv Oblast, in particular with the use of aircraft, although earlier the enemy’s aircraft were more actively used exclusively in the Sumy direction. Now we are observing shelling both on the territory of Chernihiv Oblast and on the territory of Sumy Oblast
He added that the enemy does not stop its sabotage activities either. The threat of DRG intervention attempts remains for all these three areas.
Although, if we analyze the year 2024, then the most attempts to enter our territory by the enemy’s DRG were recorded in the Sumy direction, but separate attempts were also noted in Chernihiv Oblast, and actually in Kharkiv Oblast. If we talk about those areas that are in the defense lanes of the DPSU units on the border with Russia, over the past year more than 10 attempts by enemy subversive and reconnaissance groups to penetrate our territory were recorded
According to him, such measures, first of all, are aimed at establishing the places where our Ukrainian soldiers and defensive fortifications are located. It also includes mining the area or an attempt by DRG forces to attack positions held by our military.
