On Tuesday, October 7, the national team of Ukraine gave way to Spain with a score of 0: 1 and left the tournament in Chile at the stage 1/8 of the finals. An experienced specialist praised Alexander Pishchur’s speech, and also noted the absence of a German “Bayer” forward Artem Stepanova:
– I would divide the match into two halves. The first half is an attempt by the Ukrainian national team to play with the Spanish in Spanish football: without speed, without aggression, always on the ball. However, in such a game, everything is solved by the details, namely the location of the players on the football field. In this component, they gave way.
In the second half, after Pishur’s release, the game opened. There was a football player who clings to the ball well, accelerates the attacks and has such anthropometry that the Spaniards did not have no one. Perhaps if Pischur came out for this match from the first minutes, then the game could follow a completely different scenario.
– How about one of the most promising striker of Ukraine Artem Stepanov? Would he help this national team if it were not for a conflict with the U-20 coaching staff?
– I think so. You know, different situations happen: how much players combine, how they can interact with the coaching staff. Any team should be at the heart of any team. Coaches should respect players as personalities, and players have to respect coaching decisions.
There are times when you just have to sit down and negotiate. To say: “We have an important tournament ahead. We forget the previous images and play the country, its flag and anthem. ” Especially at that time … You know, now Ukraine is especially needed in such tournaments, – Dulub says.
