On Saturday, January 17, the Russian army attacked the suburbs of Sumy with aerial bombs, Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, the head of the city’s military administration, reported.
“The loud explosions heard by the residents of Sumy are related to the impact of guided aerial bombs on the suburbs. Residential buildings, commercial buildings and cars were damaged. Previously, 2 people were injured,” he said.
According to the head of the OVA, as a result of the attack by the Russian Federation, problems with the world arose in the city. At the same time, the city council was informed that due to power outages, one of Sumy’s water intakes was cut off from 8:30 p.m.
“In connection with this, residents of the area of Serhiy Borodaevskii, Romenska, Gerasim Kondratiev, Lykhvinska Stinka, Petropavlivska, Sumy Artbrigade, Yaroslav Mudry and adjacent streets were temporarily left without water supply,” the city council clarified.
The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.
The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.
The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
