“Russia threatens Europe’s security not only through armed aggression, but also because of the continent’s dependence on Russian gas. At meetings in Athens this week, the United States and Europe are working together to eliminate this threat forever,” he said.
In particular, Timchenko met with US Energy Minister Chris Wright and Lithuanian Energy Minister Zygimantas Vaichunas.
“On the first day of a full-scale invasion in 2022, we severed ties with the power grids of Russia and Belarus and no longer received a single electron from them. My great hope for 2026 is to see a clear target for the last molecule of Russian gas entering Europe,” Timchenko said.
Previously, Timchenko was included in the Top-100 world leaders in climate transformation.
