According to the head of the Center for Combating Misinformation at the NSDC of Ukraine Andriy Kovalenko, blows in Russian oil refineries aim to stop the production of fuel, which is provided by the Russian army.
“It is important that the Volgograd refinery stops producing gasoline, diesel fuel, fuel and aviation fuel, which it provides the Russian army,” Kovalenko said.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that the air defense of the Russian Federation had intercepted and destroyed 70 Ukrainian drones over the territory of Russia at night, 25 of them over the Volgograd region, 27 over the Rostov region and 7 – over the Astrakhan region.
The recently attacked Volgograd Refinery is one of the largest in Russia with a processing capacity of about 14 million tons of oil per year.
