In the Vologda region, the Bilozerska substation was attacked, the installed capacity of which is three gigavolt-amperes. It is the largest power supply center of the Vologda region and provides energy for Vologda, Cherepovets and nearby industrial enterprises.
In the Volgograd region, the target of the strike was the substation of the “Balashovska” transmission line with a capacity of 1,523 megavolt-amperes. It provides the transit of electricity from the Volga HPP to the central regions of Russia and was attacked for the second time in the last month.
In recent weeks, Ukraine has intensified attacks on energy facilities on the territory of Russia. This happened after the promise of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi to expand the geography of strikes with the help of Ukrainian missiles. It is not known whether these missiles were used in night attacks.
On the morning of November 8, the Ministry of Defense of Russia reported the interception of 82 Ukrainian drones over seven Russian regions. The Vologda region was not mentioned among those attacked. It is not known how many drones were intercepted.
