Documents confirming the establishment of disability, issued by MSEK before December 31, 2024, will remain valid even after the elimination of the commissions.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of Health Maria Karchevych on television, Ukrinform reports.
“According to the law, all documents issued by MSEK before December 31 remain valid, and benefits and guarantees provided to people with disabilities are preserved. If a person is registered for lifelong disability, it is not necessary to undergo an assessment. She can pass the assessment only at her own will,” said Karcevych.
A transition period will be established for persons who must undergo periodic examinations to determine disability.
“If the disability is temporary, i.e. until a certain date, then after its completion, a person must submit documents through a doctor and undergo an assessment. For those whose re-examination should take place in January-June of the following year, the law provides for a grace period. If they fail to pass the assessment, this period will be extended to July 1. This is a transitional period for adaptation to the new system,” said Karchevych.
