He noted that active fighting was ongoing in the Kurshchyna, the enemy had some tactical success, since it has been an offensive for a long time.
“The enemy was regrouping and replenishing in February after significant losses suffered in December 2024 and January 2025. And now they are attacked with new forces,” the expert said.
According to him, the Russians have now switched almost all the attention to Kurshchyna.
“Kurshchyna came to the epicenter and became the most priority direction of impact for the Russian troops. They were likely to be expelled here even that they were expecting to pull up the Pokrovsky direction. She worked because even now the enemy is forced to throw his hand there, ”Musienko said.
The expert said that the Russians in Kurchyna had moved to a massive storm, as well as the nature of the enemy’s actions partially changed – the enemy wanted to have a cover blow to block logistics and try to take our strength. Musienko emphasized:
“To date, these plans are thwarted, that is, there is no surroundings. As for the threat of logistics, it was there before – the enemy has been engaged in a considerable number of drones, in particular, on the fiber and its aviation has been dumped in a large amount of aviation.”
He stressed that today there is no environment of defense forces of Ukraine in Kurshchyna and there is a logistics.
The expert predicts that the enemy will try to advance in order to displace the forces of Ukraine’s defense from Kursk.
“The very high pressure and a large number of enemy attacks were survived by our units, which, including the forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which continue to carry out the planting. It is not easy, but during these few days they caused significant losses to Russian troops, which kept somewhat progress,” – said Musienko.
At the same time, it does not exclude that there may be relevant contracies by the defense forces of Ukraine in Kurshchyna, including for the purpose of “squeezing” of these DRGS units and groups that are trying to fix themselves in the Sumy region. Musienko said:
“There is no consolidation in Sumy region. There are separate units of Russian troops, which are combined with the diversion and intelligence groups of the enemy, which operate and knock them out of Ukrainian troops, and they go there again. Plus they try to create the illusion of control and presence and send those who are ready for money.
He also reminded that even before the Kursk region, some communities in Sumy region were displaced.
