– What kind of assessment will you put in this match?
– I would set myself 7 or 8 out of 10 for the whole match, but 9, and sometimes 10 – for the third set, it was the best party I played in this tournament. This is good news for me, the feelings were wonderful. I go out into the finals with more confidence.
Unfortunately, I failed to implement the first match on the second set. At that moment I was a little nervous. Was not free in a draw to attack. But I found my best game in the beginning of the third set – I started very confident, focused. There were a lot of quality and stability in my blows. This is my main point in this match.
-What has changed compared to Monte Carlo or Madrid?
– Honestly, I constantly change something when I feel that I am not at the desired level. I am looking for every day, even at 38, even after more than twenty years at this level. I’m no longer the player who was 15, 10 or even 5 years ago. It is necessary to have such thinking to match the young. Every day look for a new one, improve the game, mentality.
My team and I are constantly trying to change the approach to training, to tournaments. The situation before arrival here was non -ideal. But after the first match, I felt confidence. I played well in training, but the match is always different: psychology works. So far, everything is very good.
-There is a chance to get the 100th title …
– Of course, it motivates. It’s an inspiration. I feel good, this week I’m stable – everything happens as best you can. I am calm. Support, wonderful atmosphere give me extra energy.
