Deontay WILDER: “In Ukraine they say that Usyk is the greatest. But it’s not like that”

Former world champion in super heavyweight Deontay Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) admitted that he does not consider Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15 KOs) to be the greatest in history:

“Usyk is not the greatest boxer in history. Probably, only his fans are talking about it, because they are simply obliged to do it. In Ukraine, they think so, but it is not true.

Many Ukrainians consider Oleksandr the greatest boxer, but most people don’t understand anything about boxing,” Wilder concluded.

The ex-world champion from the USA had 49 fights in the professional ring, in which he won 44 (43 early). In June, Wilder knocked out compatriot Tyrell Herndon to end his two-fight losing streak in 2023 and 2024.

Usyk last entered the ring in July, when he stopped the British Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian became the absolute world champion, but in October he lost one title, refusing to defend the WBO belt.

Usyk confirmed that he will fight against a dangerous opponent with 43 knockouts
