Demi Moore has scooped another award for The Substance (Picture: Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic) Demi Moore won her first SAG Award last night as the Hollywood star continued to dominate awards season with gory body horror The Substance.

Striptease icon Demi, 62, appears in Coralie Fargeat’s gruesome film as Elisabeth Sparkle, an ageing starlet who tries an experimental drug named The Substance which promises to bring out the best version of you.

The film has been an unlikely hit during the 2025 awards circuit, nabbing Demi her first-ever Golden Globe, which was also her first-ever major acting award.

Her latest wins at the Critics Choice Awards and the SAG Awards for best actress makes her a leading contender for this year’s Oscars, where she will face off against the likes of Cynthia Erivo, Karla Sofía Gascón, Mikey Madison, and Fernanda Torres.

During her acceptance speech at last night’s glitzy awards bash, Ghost star Demi reflected on her career and ‘sometimes succeeding and sometimes failing.’

She spoke about the ‘deeply meaningful’ moment she received her SAG membership card as a young actor before paying tribute to her fellow actors in the room.

Another win for The Substance places her as a front-runner for this year’s Oscars (Picture: Christine Tamalet/Universal Studios) ‘You have all been my greatest teachers, and I am so, so grateful that I have continued over these so many years to be able to try — and sometimes succeed and sometimes fail — but to be able to keep going,’ she said.

Sharing some advice with those looking to make acting their career, she continued: ‘As these actors who are having to do it all, I just encourage you, don’t lose sight of the human connection.

‘Thats the work that we do. It’s to be connected to one another.’

SAG Award winners 2025 The prize for best actor went to Timothée Chalamet in A Complete Unknown, a shock win beating the likes of Ralph Fiennes in Conclave and Adrien Brody in The Brutalist, both of which were big winners at this year’s Baftas.

Despite being dogged by controversy, Emilia Perez won a gong for Zoe Saldaña for best supporting actress, while Kieran Culkin won the best supporting actor award for Jesse Eisenberg’s familial drama A Real Pain.

The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, won the award for best action performance by a stunt ensemble.
