The Defense Forces of Ukraine struck Russian military arsenals in the Krasnodar Territory and the Tver Region, according to a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Tonight (September 21 – ed.) fire damage was inflicted on the “Tikhoretsk” arsenal in the Krasnodar Territory. This object is one of the three largest ammunition storage bases of the occupiers and is one of the key ones in the logistics system of the Russian troops. According to available information, at the time of the attack, another echelon was on the territory of the arsenal, which delivered at least 2,000 tons of ammunition, including from the DPRK. The Podlyot radar station, which detected air targets in the direction of the arsenal, was also attacked,” the General Staff said.

In addition, according to the agency, “the Security Service of Ukraine struck the 23rd arsenal of the Main Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation near the settlement of Oktyabrskyi, Tver region.”

“Fire and detonation are recorded in the areas of both military arsenals. The tasks were successfully completed in cooperation with the units of the Defense Forces: the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine and others. Combat work on important military targets of the Russian occupiers continues,” the General Staff of the Armed Forces concluded.

Subsequently, a RFE/RL source in the SBU reported that on the night of September 21, “drones organized a “cotton” at the 23rd Arsenal of the Main Artillery Department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation near N.p. Oktyabrsky, Tver region. Artillery and missile weapons for operational-tactical missile complexes “Iskander” and tactical missile complexes “Point-U” were stored there.

After the arrival of the drones, detonation began at the warehouse, five sources of fire were recorded, the source notes. It is also known that “SBU drones hit the infrastructure of the Shaykovka military airfield (Kalyuga region, Russian Federation), where TU-22M strategic aviation planes are stationed, which regularly fire at Ukraine.”

“The SBU, together with all the Defense Forces of Ukraine, is systematically reducing the missile and artillery potential of the enemy. This week we have already blown up a large arsenal in Toropka, Tver region. Today it was the turn of the next largest warehouse – one of the enemy’s important logistical points, where ammunition for attacks on Ukraine was stored. The season of “debris falling” is in full swing,” said an informed source in the SBU.

Earlier, the Russian authorities reported that on the night of September 20 to 21, in the village of Kamyane, Tykhoretsky District, Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation, there was an attack by drones on a warehouse with ammunition, as a result of which a fire and detonation of shells occurred at the facility.

After the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, combat drones regularly fly into Russian regions, resulting in destruction and casualties. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims that the attacks are being carried out from the Ukrainian side.

Kyiv claimed that the strikes on Russia were aimed at military, energy and transport infrastructure, which are key to Moscow’s war effort.

Russian authorities almost never report the full extent of damage caused by Ukrainian strikes.
