The SBI notes that a complex psychological-linguistic and military examination confirmed that the deputy began to harm Ukraine’s defense capabilities and information security even before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. So, in 2021, he published unreliable information about the absence of a threat of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation from the territory of Belarus.
He also disseminated information aimed at discrediting Western partners and European values.
With such actions, the suspect provided assistance to the aggressor state in carrying out subversive activities against Ukraine, the OGP notes.

In May 2021, people’s deputies from the “Servant of the People” faction in the Verkhovna Rada supported the expulsion of Yevgeny Shevchenko from the faction by a majority of votes. This happened after he met with Alexander Lukashenko in April of the same year. The faction then declared that he was not delegated to conduct any negotiations in Belarus.
According to the SBI, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, the bureau has investigated 2,399 criminal proceedings regarding crimes against the national security of our state, including 1,746 for treason (Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
