DBR: The arrested expansion of the Kiev pre -trial detention center died – he was accused of the death of another prisoner

The State Bureau of Investigation opened criminal proceedings due to the death of one of the former employees in the Kiev investigative detention center in custody – the department said this on September 24.

According to the deceased, he was accused of a number of official crimes that led to the death of a prisoner in the same detention center.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, which leads the procedural guidance in the case, one of the prisoners became ill in the camera on September 17. He was a former employee of the same institution who had previously exposed the DBR on systemic abuse.

“After a medical examination, the doctors established severe internal injuries: closed abdominal injury, spleen rupture, pancreatic slaughter, hematomas of the small intestine and others. At the same time, no visible signs of beating – bruises, scratches or gardens were found on the body of the suspect. The doctors provided all the necessary assistance with the enlisted, but in a few days, on September 24, he, unfortunately, died in the hospital, ”the bureau reports.

The Office of the Prosecutor General said that the case was opened on the fact

“The priority investigative actions are currently underway, all the circumstances of the incident and the possible number of involved persons are being established. The prosecutor’s office takes all measures to ensure a full, objective and impartial investigation. ”

The DBR notes that the deceased was one of the five accused of beating to the death of another prisoner of Kiev detention center. In August 2025, the Bureau completed a pre -trial investigation into this fact and filed a case in court.

The name of the deceased law enforcement officers is not called. In July, it became known that the indictments were transferred to the court against five prisoners and four detention center staff. The case concerned the death of one of the prisoners in December 2024 due to beating, and the detention center, according to the investigation, tried to hide the crime.
