In his statement, the regulator reported that he now has the opportunity to report Twitch of content containing illegal gambling, after which the platform may guarantee that this content will disappear. Thanks to this cooperation, Spillemyndigheden tries to prevent illegal gambling content to Danish users of Twitch.
Earlier, Spillemyndigheden concluded similar deals with Facebook, Google and Apple. In 2024, the regulator submitted 214 requests for locking illegal sites, of which 162 were blocked – three times more than in 2023. In total, 1 388 sites with illegal gambling were identified.
The blocking level increased to 90.29 %, which fixes Denmark to the TOP-10 European countries with the highest gambling control.
