The legendary show “Dancing with the Stars” returns to the screens of 1+1 Ukraine in the format of a special New Year’s charity broadcast under the slogan “Move to Life” to bring light, support and faith to Ukrainians in the darkest times.
The main mission of this issue is to help our defenders. The project joins forces with the Superhumans Center, a state-of-the-art Ukrainian war trauma center that raises funds for the targeted evacuation of wounded military personnel.

The day before, the first participants were already announced in the closed Telegram channel “Dancing with the Stars. Movement for Life”, and these are:
A veteran Ruslan Danilkin. She went to the front at the age of 18, where she worked as a communications operator. On February 10, 2023, she was seriously injured. After the injury and rehabilitation, Rusya went through the path of accepting a new self, and now actively helps other Ukrainians who have been injured. Since September 2023, she has been working at the Superhumans center, where she supports patients, helping them adapt to a new life. In addition, he is active in social networks, in particular on Instagram, where he shares his experience, motivates and supports others.
“Since I was a child, I watched Dancing with the Stars, but I never even dreamed of ever going out on the dance floor myself. But when I received an invitation, I immediately agreed. It is important for me to normalize the perception of people with amputations. So that it becomes something ordinary, everyday in our country. To show Ukrainian society that people with amputations continue to live their normal, full lives. It also became an important argument for me to agree to dance – charity fundraiser for Superhumans. I want as many people as possible to find out about it and donate.
I danced at school. I remember when I was still without a prosthesis, I had a task from a psychologist to write down my wishes. One of them is to learn to dance. At that time, I had no idea what I could do with a prosthesis. But she has already formed such a dream in her head. And now, when I’m already in the project, I’m really worried about whether I’ll be able to dance. But I am ready to face my fears and prove to myself that now I am completely different, that I am ready to make changes in my life. And to prove to myself again that everything is possible, that all limitations are only in your head”- says Rusya.
Stand-up comedian Vasyl Baydak. Star of Ukrainian humor, volunteer and actor of the national theater of absurdity “Horobchyk” and parody band Badstreet Boys. He is known for his performances, which he often characterizes as “comedy of the absurd”, and during the full-scale invasion, he is actively engaged in volunteering and closes the million-dollar meeting for the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
“In the past, I did a lot of unnecessary things: I studied to be a lawyer, I danced for 9 years, I know the song “Stolnya” by heart. Well, at least some of this should come in handy. And finally! And I’m not talking about a law degree. I was invited to “Dancing with the Stars” – I didn’t hesitate for a second at all, since I’ve been looking at this project for a long time and saw myself there. True, in these thoughts, I was the first to fly out there, but it won’t be like that here. Because there’s only one release. Checkmate!”- comments Vasyl.
The TV host “Breakfast with 1+1” will also appear on the dance floor Nelya Shovkoplyaswhich the audience adores for its warmth, sincerity and bright energy. This year, Nelya symbolically takes over the baton from her colleagues and friends – Lyudmila Barbier and Ruslan Senichkin, who conquered the dance floor of “Dances” in their time. Although in fact her journey with the project has been going on for many years – Nelya dreamed of going out on the dance floor herself. So now the moment has come when this dream will finally come true.
“My journey on television began eight years ago precisely with “Dancing with the Stars”, because after finishing the courses at 1+1 Media School, I interned on the project as an administrator. And then, having joined the “Breakfast” team, I returned to Dance, but already as a balcony host. I visited the airwaves many times to support my colleagues – Ruslana Senichkina and Luda Barbier, who participated in the show. And now it’s my turn to leave on the floor!
In fact, I am very happy! Because I really wanted to take part in “Dances” once upon a time. And now such an opportunity has arisen! Especially since now we have a great charity goal. Join in!
