Vanessa will star in The Thursday Murder ClubCredit: APVanessa, 29, is seen gliding on the rink with actor Tom Ellis, who plays ex-boxer turned TV personality Jason Ritchie in the film.

The character’s next television job is on the Dancing on Ice line-up.

It will have been a throwback moment for Vanessa, as ITV’s talent contest was shelved earlier this year after 19 years on air.

The German dancer had been on the show since 2017, winning once and reaching the final six times.

But she had always aspired to become an actress, revealing in 2023 that she was undertaking coaching.

She said:” I am focusing on my acting now. I am keen to do movies.

“I’ve been having lessons every single day.

“I hope it’s going to pay off.”

Dancing On Ice star eliminated in drama-filled show hours after Vanessa Bauer pulls out with injury

The Thursday Murder ClubRichard Osman’s hit crime novel The Thursday Murder Club gets a film adaptation that is fun and disarmingly old-fashioned.

Directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire, The Harry Potter franchise) and with an inspired screenplay by comic-turned-screenwriter Katy Brand, this Netflix-produced movie features stellar turns from some legendary talent of the British film industry.

Columbus, known for his family-friendly touch, leans into warmth and character rather than grit to deliver this cosy murder mystery with Hollywood sheen.

The story follows residents of a retirement community in Kent who meet weekly to discuss unsolved crimes, only to find themselves investigating a real murder.

Helen Mirren shines as feisty retired spy Elizabeth, Pierce Brosnan as ex-union man Ron, and Ben Kingsley as ex-psychiatrist Ibrahim, while Celia Imrie plays new resident Joyce, a retired nurse now at a loose end.

The tone is whimsical, full of ITV Sunday night charm — and while sleepy in its rhythm, the film is peppered with sly humour.

The Thursday Murder Club dropped on Netflix on, fittingly, Thursday 28th August, and you can find The Sun’s full review of it here.
