Material losses as a result of Russians blowing up the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant reached about $14 billion.

This was reported by the Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Svitlana Grynchuk.

“If we talk about the material side of these damages, almost $14 billion in damages caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka dam and the loss of these water resources have been calculated,” she said.

Grynchuk noted that the volume of lost water resources can be compared with half of the reserves of some African countries. And for Ukraine, it was also felt, and therefore the problem of water supply in the affected regions is still very relevant.

Earlier, Ukrainian law enforcement officials announced suspicion against Russian general Oleg Makarevich. He ordered to blow up the Kakhovskaya HPP a year ago.

On the anniversary of the blowing up of Kakhovskaya HPP by Russian terrorists, Ukrhydroenergo announced the preparation of a lawsuit to the International Arbitration on this matter.
