The Swedish police, with the permission of the Chinese authorities, boarded the vessel Yi Peng 3, which appears in the case of cable damage in the Baltic Sea.

This is reported by Reuters, Ukrinform reports.

Swedish police said law enforcement officers were on board the Yi Peng 3 as observers while Chinese authorities conducted the investigation.

“At the same time, a preliminary investigation of sabotage in connection with two cable damages in the Baltic Sea is ongoing,” the police said.

The actions taken aboard the Chinese vessel on Thursday were reportedly not part of a preliminary investigation being conducted by Sweden.

The visit to the bulk carrier, which is anchored in the Kattegat Strait between Denmark and Sweden, took place with the assistance of the Danish authorities.
