In the occupied territory of Crimea, there is a massive violation of the rules for the use of pesticides and agrochemicals, which can threaten people’s health and the environment.
According to the Center for National Resistance, inspections conducted in 2025 by the Azov-Black Sea Department of the Agricultural Supervision of the Russian Federation revealed violations in 23 out of 25 cases. This indicates not only isolated failures, but a systemic problem that requires an urgent response.
The occupying authorities were aware of these violations well before official inspections, but the response was delayed due to fears of halting production cycles, which could damage harvest plans.
Signals of mass violations were received at the beginning of the agricultural season, in particular, in gardens, vineyards and vegetable farms.
However, the response was deliberately delayed, as local officials did not want to halt production cycles and derail plans for a harvest that is being actively positioned as an “import substitution success”.
All additional inspections conducted on the basis of a risk-oriented approach and agreed by the occupation prosecutor’s office of Crimea also revealed violations.
This confirms the systemic nature of the problem and the lack of proper control over the safety of the use of chemicals in the agricultural sector of the peninsula.
