Representatives of the second middle weight (up to 76.2 kg) met in the ring – the holder of the WBC, WBO, WBA and IBF titles from Mexico Saul Alvarez (63–2–2, 39 KOs) and the American Terence Crawford (41–0, 31 KOs).
The representative of the USA defeated his opponent after 12 rounds of intense confrontation, took the world championship titles from the Mexican and became the first boxer to win the title of absolute in three divisions.
