As part of the PURL initiative, the contributions of international partners in support of Ukrainian defense approached three billion dollars.
Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Head of the Office of the President reported that these funds made it possible to generate important resources to meet the primary needs of Ukraine in wartime conditions.
This information became known after a meeting between Zhovkva and representatives of the Alliance, where further steps to attract new contributions were discussed.
Zhovkva also emphasized the importance of not only receiving financial aid, but also the development of its own capabilities in the production of weapons, since Ukraine lacks funds for the implementation of relevant projects.
The PURL initiative, launched in August with the participation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, Donald Trump and the Secretary General of NATO, has already united 16 partner countries, including the Netherlands, Norway and Latvia.
The discussion of cooperation with partners and mechanisms for attracting additional funds is ongoing, which shows that Ukraine is active in protecting its interests.
Former President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi reported about implementation reached agreements with Germany regarding the strengthening of Ukrainian air defense.
It will be recalled that the USA is suspending the sale of Patriot systems to European countries.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi also noted that Ukraine is currently discussing an agreement with Washington on the purchase of the required number of Patriot systems.
