Commerzbank, Germany’s second largest bank in the number of branches, in cooperation with Crypto Finance, a subsidiary of the largest exchange operator Deutsche Boerse Group, will offer to corporate clients, cryptocurrency trading and storage services. This is written by CoinDesk.

“Our offering in the field of digital assets allows corporate clients to take advantage of the opportunities opened up by Bitcoin and Ether for the first time,” commented Gernot Kleckner, Head of Capital Markets for Corporate Clients at Commerzbank.

In November 2023, Commerzbank received a license from the regulator to store cryptocurrencies.

Germany’s DZ Bank will give its 700 corporate customers access to cryptocurrencies thanks to a deal with Boerse Stuttgart Digital. These banks will be able to offer their retail clients services for trading and storing digital assets.

Work has already begun, the first banks will join this year. After that, the product will be rolled out to select retail customers.

“We offer a proven and fully regulated infrastructure for cryptocurrency trading and depository services to financial institutions across Europe,” said Boerse Stuttgart Digital CEO Matthias Voelkel.

The Frankfurt-based bank has $627 billion in assets under management. Last November, it launched a custodial platform for institutional investors.

We will remind you that in September, Germany stopped the work of 47 illegal bitcoin exchangers.
