Russian companies have faced the blocking of accounts at major Chinese banks because their legal addresses coincide with those of organizations under sanctions.

This is reported by the Russian publication The Moscow Times.

According to them, such restrictions have recently become widespread. In particular, large banks – Bank of China and Chouzhou Commercial – are actively blocking accounts.

One of the addresses of the mass registration of legal entities in Turkey was included in their “black lists”, as well as about ten addresses in Hong Kong, says a representative of the legal company Amond & Smith Ivan Tikhonenok.

“In Turkey, a “black label” came to companies registered at the address No: 52 Hasat Sk., Kamara Iç Kapi No: 1, Merkez Mah., Sisli, Istanbul, 34381, Turkey. In Hong Kong, well-known addresses turned out to be “corrupted” – eg Room 19C Lockhart Center 301-307, Lockhart Rd Wan Chai, Hong Kong and a number others,” the lawyer clarified.

At least one address on the territory of Russia fell under the restrictions, says Surana Radnaeva, general director of the Synoruss legal company.

“This led to the fact that currently the bank [Bank of China] not only checks the address of a company that is unlucky enough to have the same address as a sub-sanctioned company. Its name, type of activity and general director are also checked. At the time of the inspection, the use of accounts is limited,” she told the publication.

We will remind:

The fourth largest bank in China – Bank of China – began to block transfers in yuan from countries that Russia uses for the purchase of goods more often.
