“A significant number of Ukrainians are seriously considering the possibility of returning home,” Chernyshov told the German news agency dpa.
As reported by mass media, Chernyshov noted that in connection with the reduction of the population in Ukraine, there is an acute need for workers, in particular, in the arms industry, energy and reconstruction.
“For us, these are critical enterprises or critical industries,” the minister said, adding that “returnees will be exempted from military service if they work in these sectors.”
Also, Die Welt, referring to the words of the minister, writes that “those who return will be granted a reprieve from military service if they work there.” “Therefore, if you work at a power plant, you will not be drafted into the army. You have a guarantee,” Die Welt quoted the minister as saying.
However, those Ukrainians who decide to stay in Germany will also receive support, for example, when looking for a job or improving their professional qualifications. “They should not be a burden on the neck of the government,” said the minister.
