In the Lviv region, all checkpoints work without interruption, although winter weather can quickly change the situation on the roads. Border guards and road services are working in enhanced mode to ensure safe passage to the border. There are only a few places where there is traffic congestion, and there are currently no problems with crossing the border. This was reported by the 7th border Carpathian detachment Facebook.
The border guards are in constant coordination with the road management department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the Service for Reconstruction and Development of the Region’s Infrastructure. Road services work in an intensified mode: dozens of units of snow removal equipment are used at the entrances to the checkpoints, so that the roads remain passable even in difficult weather conditions.
As of now, all checkpoints in Lviv Oblast are working normally, no problems with getting to the border have been recorded. Only in Krakow there are 30 cars for exiting Ukraine, in Shegyny – 65, and opposite these points for entering Ukraine – 50 and 20 cars, respectively.
Border guards called on drivers to pay attention to weather conditions, obey traffic rules and be as careful as possible. In case of worsening of the situation, they advise to refrain from trips without an urgent need. “We monitor the situation on the roads and checkpoints every minute to ensure uninterrupted traffic and the safety of citizens,” the detachment said in a statement.
