“The Ferrari pilot reported that the first run-in laps were without problems with the car’s systems”, — write: sport.ua
On Friday morning, the Scuderia from Maranello presented its first car under the 2026 Formula 1 regulations at the Fiorano test track. Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc drove laps behind the wheel of the novelty.
Hamilton was the first to leave the track – in difficult weather conditions, because the races were held on wet asphalt. Despite this, hundreds of fans gathered at Fiorano a few hours before the presentation to see the debut of the SF-26 live.
After Hamilton, Leclerc took the wheel, but the Monegasque admitted that due to limited mileage and weather conditions, he could not fully feel the behavior of the car. However, the main task of the day was accomplished – the car worked stably.
“Yes, I look forward to this day every year. The main goal is to make sure that everything is functioning correctly and that there are no major problems. That’s exactly what happened today, so that’s a positive,” said Leclerc.
According to Charles, it is still too early to talk about the speed or feeling of the car:
“From the point of view of productivity, it is still too early to draw conclusions. The conditions were not the best: fog and a wet track. It’s not an ideal scenario for the first Test.”
“It was very exciting, because there is a huge amount of work behind it. To see the real data from the sensors for the first time and make sure that the car is behaving as we expected is important.”
